She-Hulk is a one-trick pony and (in the John Byrne version) knew it. Half the fun was her self-awareness of her own appeal to fanboys and flaunting it in the pages. That abortion a few months ago was the usual pattern: take a beloved property with a preexisting audience and use it to shoehorn your BS agenda talking points. It's very basic bait-and-switch because they're not clever enough to use subtlety to meet their goals.
Except Br'er Rabbit was not a Disney character. Technically all those stories are in the public domain, and have been so for quite a long time, which is the real reason for the change. The problematic part of the "Song of the South" was in the live-action segments, which the ride completely ignored, even though people claimed the ride was perpetuating those racial problems even back when it first opened. As much as people push conspiracies about it, the renovations are only being done because Disney fully owns "Princess and the Frog" and can easily farm the brand for merchandise, which is something they couldn't really do with a public domain property.
SotS is slandered as "racist", but it's the story of a privileged white boy learning life lessons from a black man telling folk tales. Along the way he makes a black boy his best friend and the two have adventures and learn together. The only IRL "villains" are two other white boys who are dicks to them.
For a film from the 1940s, it was ahead of its time in several ways.

This. Disney had been sweeping the live-action portions of that movie under the rug for literally generations--when I was little, I saw the cartoon portions and read storybooks based on them, but had no idea they were tied together by live-action portions at all until I was much older.
It won’t surprise me if they hide him somewhere in the ride as an Easter egg. Disney is known to do that when they reimagine or replace rides; they’ll bring something in from the previous attraction into the new one. I’m certain at least some homage will be paid to him in Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. :)
It wasn't so much the animated characters, but the whole Uncle Remus telling stories during the American Civil War period where black people were slaves thing. Despite him befriended a white boy with his stories in the movie. There's being woke and then there is being 'backwards' with Disney sadly choosing the latter.
The funny thing is, the ride was greenlit by the same man who made the call to never release Song of the South on home video, so clearly he understood that distinction too (the Br'er Rabbit stories were recut and released on VHS at one point, as well, probably around the same time). But the storm cloud of guilt by association comes for us all eventually, it seems.
Unless they do that, everything from Disney up to a certain point could all be seen as offensive and banned
Why do you think they're remaking so many movies now? It's future proofing, I tell you h'what.
Shame that terrible Pan movie came out when it did and derailed Disney's plans to remake Peter Pan, because there's a Disney movie that needs to be replaced if ever there was one. And I say this as someone who hates almost every single one of the remakes they've done so far—in this case, they had a solid plan, adapting the Peter and the Starcatchers books which I actually really liked.

honestly i think they've been doing it backwards, they need to use the live action remakes as a chance to breathe new life into movies that didn't perform as well the first time (and lend themselves better to a live action environment) such as Atlantis: the lost empire
but it is never the same without Splash mountain i vowed never to go to IGERland or world til it returns if it never does so be it ill use my buckage on something more useful and awesome who knows a real fursuit or pay off on something ive been saving for plus many other places to go and see especially Anthrocon waay better and more fun to visit.
Ironically (as I mentioned in the stream), I'm betting a lot of his swamp pals will survive the retheming, since that's too many animatronics to just chuck out all at once and build replacements for. Disney is too budget-conscious for that. Meaning he'll be outlived by the America Sings characters who already predated him by almost two decades. Plus ça change...
Perhaps. But America Sings was designed to use the same rotating auditorium used by the Carousel of Progress when that attraction moved to Walt Disney World. After America Sings was shut down the building became home for Innoventions until 2015. After that, the building was re-designed and is currently home to the Tomorrowland Expo Center.
So the only possibility of a "revival" would be if the attraction were moved to Florida to replace the Carousel of Progress there. But that seems unlikely, given both the age of the animatronics (which are now nearly 50 years old) and the Bicentennial theme of the original show. Chances are these unique creations will be dismantled and disposed.

Instead of making this an example of the small rabbit (minority), outsmarting the powerful (fox/bear), they make this political with increased anger and seperation.
Better yet, make a new space/sci-fi coaster ride with the Brer characters in the future.
Give Tiana her new ride...because it would be a new ride. They should have built a new park years ago...which they are now learning.
