Literally whoops Ardyn so hard that it causes a "good ending" to the entire game, all without the Armiger or any royal blood. I like to think the Crystal was thinking "You know what? *This* is the guy that deserves all that power."
You could say Ignis' resolve far-outshined anything that had been shown up to this point.
So much so that the crystal just let him have full-access in exchange for his life, no chat with the old kings.
Imagine if all it took was to amuse the gods enough.

Not only that, if we follow the scrapped "Final Episode DLC"... (Spoilers)
...Bahumut Engineered the whole "Prophecy" just to have an excuse to kill everyone on Eos, because not only did he hate Humanity, but he was not even a True version of Bahumut to began with! He was an Usurper who stole the role from the _actual_ Bahumut and engineered the Corruption so he could destroy Eos with a Terra Nova!
Its why the original version of FFXV is so _bleak._ There actually was no real happy ending because everyone blindly followed a Prophesy crafted by an Usurper God, and Noctis dying to 'Save the World' actually dooms it, as there is noone left to actually defeat the Usurper, the true threat to Eos, because there is noone left to use magic!
Ignis Scientia... Basically flipped the Usurper's table and called his Bluff.

I loved this entire extra verse.
One of the greatest track of all time for the true main character of FF15 .
The track becomes more and more quiet , you truly feel as if the time is running out for ignis and he has to give everything not just for his best friend but also for the world .
I come back 6 years later and the violin still breaks my heart and makes shed a tear because just those first 5 seconds tells us all how painful this sacrifice was to Ignis to protect Noctis life.
In EPISODE Ignis OST this piece is called Ashes to Ashes.
This theme (Ashes to Ashes) is one of the best tracks in this DLC. Even though the violin leitmotif is the same as in the Main Theme but in this track you can truly feel both the desperation and determination in Ignis to save Noctis from his destiny. Ignis one-upped the 2000 years of the Gods' plan with his resolve. "You wanna sacrifice my best friend? Not a f* chance!" and came up with a recipe to change Noctis' destiny. Total badass. This alternate ending is what Ignis deserved.
And the solo violin truly embodies Ignis just as the composer wanted. It may seem soft but do not underestimate it. Even with all the other instruments playing around it, the soft melody doesn't drown; it stands out and shines brilliantly on its own. The Chosen One might be the ace, but here's a wildcard to throw everything off.
At this point Its safe to assume Ignis can lift Thor's hammer

Lowkey the best boss fight in the game, nothing else felt as tense as this, knowing that you might be able to defy fate but you have to act fast or you'll get an even worse ending than the original

People can shit all over this game as much as they want to but maybe besides persona this game just made me love the team so much. I truly believe that each one of the guys would die for eachother and I'm not ashamed to admit this game made me cry a few time. The score was masterful this some being the pinnacle in my opinion. Truly portrays the love between 2 friends. Ignis will for ever be the ultimate bro

Ignis giving his all to prevent Noctis from dying for filling his father's wish. I dunno this kinda made me feel if tabata is in charge from the start this would of been our original ending. IMO. Plus to me this story is about brotherhood, bonds and unity. Adryn threw that away just so he could be the chosen one for selfish reasons.

That’s because Ravus wanted to use the ring for selfish reasons, Ignis was willing to give his life to save Noct and Bahamut respected that and gave him the option of sacrifice to use the power

The ending that comes from this path is and will forever be, in my mind, the canon ending. That said, I'm not sure why the Ring's power always lasts for such a short amount of time when in Kingsglaive, the Kings granted Nyx their power until sunrise. Seems like they only granted Ignis their power for like...a half an hour, if that.
I wonder after seeing Ignis' steely determination, the kings of yore feel somehow impressed by it/having some sort of hope that maybe, a very tiny chance Ignis can change Noctis' destiny hence the question "Does thou wish to save the king?". If they knew it was futile to grant power to someone aside from the king, they could just ask "Do you want more power?" But instead the question was rather specific as if they also wished that there is a different way to end it all. I mean after all Noctis is their descendant. So they are willing to grant Ignis their power but at the same time fear the Gods' wrath for defying destiny so they put in a time limit.
This is just all my conjecture and wishful thinking, of course :) I don't remember if they also asked the same question to Nyx.
I also take this ending as canon in my head haha
@@nekonette To my memory, they didn't ask that to Nyx, in fact, they were fully prepared to reject and kill him. It was only until after he threatened them with the loss of the Ring of Lucii and voiced his readiness to sacrifice his own life to ensure that the Kingdom at least had a chance to see tomorrow that they decided to grant him their power.
@@CB-141 I'd like to think if Noctis fate as the Chosen One is preordained, then so is Ignis'. That he was also meant to be the one to change the Chosen One's destiny. What are the chances that the Chosen One also happen to have a super loyal retainer and friend who dare to defy even the Gods' will.
Nyx only needed enough power to fight Glauca. Ignis needed enough power to fight ARDYN. Ignis was probably given way, WAY more power than Nyx was at the cost of it burning through his life much faster.
In my opinion the best battle in the game!

Iggy will always be my favorite character since the start of FF15 and only proved that more with his dlc, His determination and Resolve to defy faith and destiny for Noct. He truly is an amazing friend to fight alongside Noct, truly my opinion, Iggy is the chosen one. The OST for this fight is amazing, you can feel the tension and the intensity of the fight, the fight that will defy Destiny. FF never fails to disappoint❤❤❤.
Imo, this version of the theme could have been the best, but I feel it loses part of what makes me love the others so much after 0:58

well not truely complete edition since they have plans for more dlc storylines later.
Don't think you'll be getting a full edition bud, you have to pay for the dlc, I think it's a good bargain though, 25 bucks for all the other characters stories, sure, could've been in the game but I don't really care if it's dlc, only 25 bucks, at least it's not like cod where a few map packs you'll barely ever play are $60-70 for one map pack.
